Lenovo showed off a brand new Android tablet, the Tab M9, which will not compete with the iPad or other high-end tablets, but looks like a fine option for content consumption at a super affordable price point.
The Lenovo Tab M9 is a 9-inch Android tablet that is designed primarily for content consumption. Its HD display is certified for Netflix in HD and supports Dolby Atmos through its speakers.
One of the main selling points of Lenovo’s latest tablet is its size—the Tab M9 tips the scale at 0.76 pounds and comes in at 0.31 inches thick. Lenovo included a 9-inch, 1,340-by-800-pixel display with a pixel density of 176ppi. It’s a bit lacking in resolution, but that’s reasonable at this price. The tablet will be in Arctic Grey and Frost Blue, both of which feature the firm’s signature two-tone back panel.
The device will be featured in multiple configurations. It runs with a MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor with the cheapest version packing 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for $139.99. Other, more expensive configurations available include 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage.
It’ll release with Android 12, and it is possible to update to Android 13.
One amazing software feature is the Reading Mode, which simulates the color of actual book pages, creating a more ereader-like experience. Another feature is face-unlock, which it isn’t always on entry-level models.
The Tab M9 will include a 2MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear camera. Tablets enough for video chats.
Regarding battery life, the 5,100mAh cell should be enough to keep the tablet running for a full day, Lenovo’s claimed 13 hours of video playback. While watching those videos you can the two speakers, which feature Dolby Atmos support.
It will set to launch sometime in the second quarter of 2023. If you are interested in giving the tablet, yon won’t wait long.
