The new iPad mini (the iPad Mini 6) was revealed during the iPhone 13 reveal event on September 14, and it’ll be on sale around the world on September 24, though you can already order it from the Apple website.

Larger Screen
The iPad Mini 6 has a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display that offers 500 nits of brightness.The resolution is 2266 x 1488, which results in a pixel-per-inch count of 326. It’s a True Tone display like iPad Pros, which means it changes color slightly in different settings to make the screen look the same, and supports a P3 wide color range- that means it shows a wide range of colors.
New Touch ID
There’s a Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the top button of the device, replaces the outdated home button on the front, which the iPad mini (2019) had.
USB-C port
This time, the iPad Mini features a USB-C port for up to 10% faster data transfers when you’re on the go, and the ability to connect to various USB-C supported accessories.
A15 Bionic chipset
The iPad mini 2021 uses the A15 Bionic chipset, which is also in the iPhone 13 series. The new iPad Mini takes advantage of a new processor for 40% faster CPU performance and 80% faster GPU speeds.
Camera
The iPad mini 6′s new 12MP Ultra Wide front-facing camera, which has a much wider field of view than that of its predecessor.The rear camera is upgraded from an 8MP sensor to a 12MP Wide angle lens. The iPad mini 6′s front camera has Center Stage for tracking your face on calls so you stay in the center of the frame.As it uses onboard AI to have the iPad’s front-facing camera automatically follow you as you move around during video calls.

The iPad mini 6 now supports 5G, so you can order either the base Wi-Fi model or the more expensive version with 5G connectivity.
Plus, it now supports the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, and you can magnetically attach the Pencil to the iPad mini 6 to keep it charged and readily at hand.

The new iPad mini models in both the 64GB and 256GB storage sizes, and the Wi-Fi-only or Wi-Fi and cellular options.
Outlook
The new iPad mini (2021) comes in Purple, Pink, and Space Gray finishes, along with a cream-like color that Apple is calling Starlight. It comes in at 195.4 x 134.8 x 6.3mm and 293g (or 297g for the cellular model).
