Apple has unveiled the new iPad 2022 – and it did so without much fanfare, releasing the new upgrade products on official website rather than hosting a full launch event.
This ipad 2022 was unveiled alongside the iPad Pro 2022 line, and it’s quite the upgrade in a number of ways, with a more powerful chipset, new cameras, 5G support, USB-C and more.Let’s know about the new tablet, including the key specs, the price, and when will you get it.
The new iPad 2022 has a more modern design than the iPad 10.2 9th Gen (2021), as the original home button is missing, allowing for smaller bezels and an full-screen design. The screen is bigger than before, at 10.9 inch rather than 10.2 inch. It’s a 1640 x 2360 Liquid Retina display with 264 pixels per inch, and a max brightness of 500 nits.
The device comes in silver, blue, pink, and yellow shades. The size 248.6 x 179.5 x 7mm and a weighs 477g, or 481g for the cellular model.
The cameras have been improved here, with a 12MP f/1.8 snapper on the back, up from 8MP on the previous model.
The front-facing camera is changed. It’s a 12MP ultra-wide one like last year, but this time it’s in landscape orientation ,which makes it better for video calls. You can record video in up to 4K quality with the rear camera and in up to 1080p with the front one.
The battery has said that it offers up to 10 hours of use for web browsing or video watching over Wi-Fi. That’s the same as it said about the last model, so don’t expect improvements here.
One upgrade, is that the new iPad 2022 charges via USB-C, rather than Lightning, which is a change that’s been a long time coming.
The new iPad 10.9 2022 runs iPadOS 16 and has an A14 Bionic processor which it’s an upgrade over the A13 Bionic in the previous model.
There’s a choice of 64GB or 256GB of storage, and 64GB is a tiny amount given that it’s not expandable.
There’s also 5G, which wasn’t available with the last model. And there’s still a Touch ID fingerprint scanner despite the removal of the home button – it’s been in the top button.
The iPad 2022 also supports the Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil. It is very surprisingly it’s still stuck with the first-gen Apple Pencil, meaning it also needs a USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter.
The new iPad 2022 is available to pre-order now and will ship on October 26 – although don’t be surprised if that date may faced shipping delays.
It starts at $449 for a 64GB Wi-Fi model. If you want that storage capacity with cellular connectivity it will cost you $599 . There’s also a 256GB model, which costs $599 for Wi-Fi, or $749 for cellular.
While releasing the new products, the old version ipad increases the cost. You may find different costs.
